Sleep Disturbances
This is one of the foremost signs of Lewy body dementia. It can occur several years before the diagnosis of this disease. Sleep disturbances occur as a REM sleep behaviour disorder.
They portray strange behaviors, vocalizations, emotions, and movements while falling asleep, asleep, or in-between sleep stages. All these are physical manifestations of their dreams.
They are often not aware that they play out their dreams in realtime. They make demonstrations such as laughing, shouting, choking, punching, and so on.
