Carotid endarterectomy
This surgery is usually performed on people who have narrowed carotid arteries. During this procedure [8], the fatty deposits lining the walls of the carotid artery and narrowing the space are removed. It is done by making an incision on the artery, from where the deposits are cleaned. This helps free up space for blood to flow through. It reduces the risk of stroke and another transient ischemic attack.
