What Are the Symptoms of Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo?

Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo is usually accompanied by various symptoms, including:
- Vomiting
- Unsteadiness
- Blurred vision
- Dizziness
- Lightheadedness
- Nausea [3]
- Loss of balance
- Vertigo [4]
Symptoms of BPPV usually appear and go. In most cases, they may last for less than one minute. A wide variety of studies show that the symptoms of this condition occur when there is a change in your head’s position. Irregular eye movements, also known as nystagmus, may accompany the symptoms of BPPV. The condition usually occurs in one ear. However, in severe conditions, it may occur in the two ears.
In severe cases of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, frequent vomiting may occur and cause dehydration [5].
