How Is Epilepsy Diagnosed?

Conclusion

Epilepsy is a neurological disorder that can affect anyone. Research shows that men are more likely to be affected than women because they are more exposed to head trauma which is one of the risk factors of developing epilepsy. They can be diagnosed through methods like EEG, MRI, PET Scans e.t.c. The diagnosis is easier when you are able to provide your doctor with information regarding your last seizure.

An epileptic seizure has no known cause but a lot of things can trigger it. Some known risk factors may include head trauma, lack of sleep, use of hard drugs. There are a lot of triggers but that does not mean they can independently cause a seizure. Combination of these factors might trigger a seizure.
