There are certain natural remedies and changes in lifestyle that can also help ease off the symptoms of chronic bronchitis. Some of them include:

  1. Get a humidifier, use it to breathe in warm and moist air, to soften the mucus in your airways and ease off the coughing. It is important that you are following the manufacturer’s instructions when cleaning the humidifier, this is because bacteria and fungi growth can occur in the water if it isn’t cleaned the proper way.
  2. If you used to be a smoker, it is necessary that you immediately quit smoking. Also, if you live in an area where the air is usually polluted, put on a mask when going outside.
  3. Start exercising. Exercise, which is basically consistent physical activity, would make the muscles that help you breathe stronger. Start out slowly if you’re new to exercising, before gradually increasing the time and intensity of your routine.
