Signs and Symptoms of Bone Cancer

Swelling and Fractures

Bone cancer can cause swelling [3] to occur around affected bones. Depending on the severity and location of the swelling, it may be difficult to carry out regular activities. Swelling that takes place around the joints, for example, can impair your ability to use affected joints.

Tumors in the bones change how the bones are. Cancerous cells can weaken the structure of the bones and cause or increase the risk of fracture [4]. Usually, the areas more likely to fracture are those where the pain has been most persistent. This may be because these areas are among the most badly affected. Most times the fractures are triggered by minor things.
