Testicular Cancer: Symptoms, Diagnosis & Treatment

Lymph Node Surgery

Lymph node surgery [5] will be done if cancer has reached the lymph nodes. It’ll involve the removal of the lymph nodes. A surgeon can do this as open or laparoscopic surgery.

Usually, the procedure will not affect fertility directly, but nerve damage may affect ejaculation. This may mean that sperm does not come out through the urethra but goes to the bladder instead.

Radiation therapy

Radiation therapy involves the use of high-dose X-rays to kill cancer cells. It may be used after surgery to prevent the tumor from returning. Radiation is usually limited to the treatment of seminomas.
