What to Do If Your Toddler Is Constipated

Giving them an adequate amount of water to drink

Water is essential and should be taken regularly; this helps free passage of fluids in the body. If a toddler doesn’t drink water regularly, the stool becomes quite hard even before reaching the colon. So, getting enough fluid inside the body helps soften the stools, making it easier for the stools to pass out. Water works better than juice or soda. An average child should take about 3 – 4 glasses cup of water every day, while a baby between the age of 0 – 6 months should be offered 2 – 3 ounces of water as it helps relieve constipation. Also, the regular intake of water helps fiber perform its work.
