Exam and Tests

Your physical exam would involve the use of a stethoscope to listen to your lungs as you breathe. Some of the tests your doctor may order after a physical exam include:

  • Spirometry: A noninvasive test to assess lung function. Th test is done with a spirometer[3]
  • Imaging tests, such as chest X-ray, [4] CT scan. The images will help look at your lungs blood vessels and heart.
  • An arterial blood gas test: This involves the collection of blood sample from your artery to measure your blood oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other important levels.

These tests will help identify the exact condition you are suffering from.
