Marshmallow Root

Marshmallow root is an herb with a long history of usage that is used as a treatment for coughs and sore throats. [6] The herb can alleviate pain resulting from coughing due to its elevated mucilage content, which is a kind of thick, gluey substance thatcovers the throat.
One study showed that, alongside thyme and ivy, an herbal cough syrup containing marshmallow root efficiently relieved coughs arising from common colds and infections of the respiratory tract. [7] 90 percent of the participants graded its efficacy as good or very good after 12 days of using the syrup.
To make the syrup, the marshmallow root is added to boiling water for about 30 minutes. The infusion should be consumed (half a cup) half an hour before meals. This same recipe can be used for wet cough.
Turmeric
Curcumin, a compound that may have anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and antibacterial effects, is found in Turmeric. [8] For some conditions, including a dry cough, it may also be helpful.
If taken with black pepper, curcumin can be easily absorbed into the bloodstream. To consume a drink, you can add 1 tsp of turmeric and 1/8 tsp of black pepper in a beverage, such as cold orange juice. You can turn it into a warm tea as well.
