What Are The Dehydration Symptoms?

Severe Dehydration

In the most severe cases, in which there is a loss of more than 10 to 15% of body water, the symptoms worsen and may include:

  • Dry Skin and Lips

Water is the main substance responsible for hydrating our skin. Without the ideal consumption of enough liquid, the skin is one of the first to feel the effects of dehydration.[8] A sufficient drinking regime prevents skin irritation, inflammation, and hypersensitivity. That is why drinking a lot of water is also recommended by beauticians for the beauty of the skin.

  • Weak Immune System

If the body is dehydrated for a long time, the concentration of toxins in the blood increases, weakening the immune system. Therefore, the body needs to receive enough fluids to facilitate the excretion of toxins and the immune system to be stronger in fighting infection.

  • Decreased Heart-Rate/Blood Pressure

Typically, blood is about 94 percent water when the body is fully hydrated. When dehydrated, the blood volume reduces and becomes thicker, causing blood flow to slow down and a lack of sweat, thus decreasing blood pressure. [9]

  • Dark Circles in the Eyes. [10]
  • Low and Constant Fever.
