10 Home Remedies for a Clogged Ear

Ear Irrigation and Avoid Candling

Ear irrigation is another effective way to treat clogged ears. It involves digging out ear wax and other substances that may be stuck in the ear. However, it is important to note that if you have gone through any form of ear surgery [4] before or treatment related to ears should avoid this remedy. This is because that person may have sensitive ears. Ear irrigation needs to be done by oils with help of a syringe to take out excessive wax from the ears. There are a couple of things that need to be taken care of before or after ear irrigation.

Another technique for cleaning the ears is candling. However, removing ear wax using this technique is not very safe. In candling, participants place a lit, hollow, cone-shaped candle into their ears; the candle’s heat melts the wax. However, this technique has the potential to severely burn someone’s ear under some circumstances.
