Valsalva Maneuvers

The Valsalva maneuver [3], also referred to as “popping your ears,” aids in clearing obstructions in the eustachian tubes brought on by pressure shifts.
You can do this by closing your lips and blowing out through a nose plug. It’s vital to avoid blowing your nose too forcefully because this can harm your eardrum.
Note that only pressure changes, such as altitude variations, make this process useful. It does not remedy situations where there is too much fluid in the inner ear. If there is fluid present, you might not be able to get them to “pop,” and trying might hurt.
Another method for pressure relief is the Toynbee maneuver. This involves you holding your nose and swallowing.
