9 Treatments Options for Eczema(Atopic Dermatitis)

Home Treatments

The use of wet-wrap therapy [3] – with or without topical corticosteroids – can be recommended for patients with moderate to severe AD to decrease the severity of the disease and the loss of water during attacks. Wet bands, towels, or pajamas are used to increase skin hydration. The patient must remain for a prolonged time with the moist tissue on the skin.

For atopic dermatitis, another effective home remedy is to place 1 cup of oatmeal [4] in 1 liter of cold water and then put the mixture on the infected skin for about 15 minutes. Then clean the skin with warm mild soap and water and dry it without rubbing the towel on the skin. Oats are a natural compound with relaxing properties that help to alleviate skin discomfort and itching. Cornstarch can be used in the place of oats since they have a similar effect.
