How to Recognize Trigger of Atopic Eczema

If the classic dry and itchy symptom appear unexpectedly, ask yourself the following questions:

      • Have I been in an unusual environment lately? Have I been exposed to new allergens and irritants?
      • Did a flare occur during an activity, such as cleaning or exercising?
      • Didn’t I suddenly change a certain part of my clothes, didn’t I use new socks, a sweater?
      • Did I eat anything else today? (Foods consumed before the onset or worsening of symptoms can be recorded in the diet diary.)
      • Did I feel anxious or stressed? Did something upset or worry me enough to cause me stress?

Careful monitoring and asking these questions will allow you to narrow down the wide range of possible triggers of atopic eczema.
