Does Anxiety Cause Blurred Vision?

Effects of anxiety on other vision problems

When you feel anxious several stress hormones are released, leading to many symptoms like visual symptoms. The visual symptoms experienced are different for everybody. Anxiety may lead to:

  • Eye floaters
  • Eye strain
  • Eye twitching
  • Flashes of light
  • Light sensitivity
  • Tunnel vision

Some of the visual symptoms stated above such as tunnel vision and light sensitivity are more common in people that have acute anxiety.  But many of these symptoms, such as eye strain and eye twitching, are more likely linked with the long-term impacts of excess stress and anxiety.
