Foods high in sugar or fat content have the likelihood to trigger headache compared to other foods. Extreme dieting for weight-loss or related reasons may also trigger migraines because of insufficient levels of essential nutrients in the body. A shortage of nutrients like magnesium, vitamin D, and riboflavin may increase your chance of developing a headache. When your diet consists mainly of foods like caffeine, alcohol, chocolate, and most processed foods, you increase the likelihood of developing frequent migraines. [8]

Reactive hypoglycemia is a headache that occurs a few hours after eating due to a change in blood sugar levels and may be due to underlying conditions like diabetes. Headache after eating may also be an allergic reaction to the food. Delayed eating, skipping important meals, or a sudden change in your eating timetable are common triggers, which may also lead to severe health conditions. [9]
