Adrenal Insufficiency

Patients that are on drugs to correct adrenal insufficiency may experience hypotension. This condition [7] is called Addison’s disease or hypocortisolism, which is a disorder in which the adrenal glands are damaged. These glands are unable to produce sufficient hormones like aldosterone and cortisol, which are necessary to maintain normal bodily functions.
Cortisol has many functions, one of which is to regulate blood pressure levels and support heart health. The deficiency of this hormone often results in life-threatening conditions, and the common symptoms include weight loss, fatigue, hypotension, and, dull or dark skin.
