Electric Cardioversion

This procedure involves an electric heart shock to regulate your heartbeat. Electrodes in the form of paddles or stick patches are placed either on the chest or the back, more like jump-starting the heart to get your heart rhythm back to normal. Before this procedure is done, your doctor would first give you drugs to make you fall asleep.
Catheter Ablation
This procedure is also known as pulmonary vein ablation or radiofrequency ablation. Catheter ablation is not a surgery but can still be done by a doctor. The procedure involves that your doctor puts a thin, flexible tube in a blood vessel in your neck or leg. Then it is guided to the area that is causing the arrhythmia in your heart. When it reaches there, it emits an electric signal that would destroy those cells. There are two types of Catheter ablation, which include radiofrequency ablation [12] and cryoablation [13]. This form of treatment would help restore your heart’s normal sinus rhythm.
