Causes of bradycardia

Bradycardia, just like most heart conditions, is more common in older people. Different things could cause bradycardia, and the causes vary from one person to another. Sometimes it can be a side effect of heart surgery or happen after a heart attack.

Some of the causes of bradycardia are:

Sick sinus syndrome (SSS)

Sick sinus syndrome (SSS) is a term that is used to generalize disorders caused when the sinus node is malfunctioning. And the sinus node [2] is the pacemaker of the heart that has electrical impulses controlling the sinus rhythm [3]. If the electrical impulses are not correct, the heart won’t beat properly, resulting in bradycardia.
