Chest Pain or Discomfort
Chest pain varies in duration, intensity, and location. It may feel like a sharp, piercing pain or a persistent dull ache. Many conditions can cause chest pain. Many of them are not related to the heart. If you often experience chest pain, you should see a doctor.
Heart arrhythmias that cause chest pain in addition to irregular heart rhythms should be treated with more urgency. Although this isn’t a sure sign of serious heart problems, it sometimes is. The chest pain you experience when you have irregular heart rhythms will often depend on the underlying cause.
Sometimes what you experience is not as much pain as it is discomfort. You may feel slight pressure or a sensation of tightness in your chest.
