Common Symptoms and Causes of Arrhythmia

Shortness of Breath or Lightheadedness

Shortness of breath [5], also called dyspnea, is an inability to get enough air into the lungs. Sometimes this condition is caused by an inability to efficiently use inhaled oxygen. You may find yourself needing to take much deeper breaths or breathe more frequently.
Most cases of this condition are caused by heart or lung problems. Heart arrhythmias can result in shortness of breath. This is not always a symptom of heart arrhythmia, so you should see a doctor if you experience it.
Lightheadedness is a reeling sensation. You may feel giddy or like you are about to faint or fall. Lightheadedness is a symptom of many conditions, including arrhythmia. This symptom is usually indicative of a more serious problem and should be attended to on time. It is often caused by arrhythmias that reduce blood flow to the brain [6] and other vital organs.
