Left sided heart failure
Left-sided heart failure is the most prevalent kind of heart failure among all others.
Heart disease that affects the side of your heart that pumps oxygen-rich blood to your body’s tissues is known as left-sided heart failure. Left-sided heart failure comes in two different forms:
- Systolic: Reduced ejection fraction in heart failure is another name for systolic failure. It occurs when the left ventricle’s ability to properly pump blood out of the heart and into circulation is compromised.
- Diastolic: Heart failure with maintained ejection fraction, or diastolic failure, is another name for it. It occurs when the left ventricle stiffens and becomes unable to relax between heartbeats, preventing it from properly filling with enough blood.
