Heart Attack vs. Heart Failure: How Do They Differ?

Biventricular and right-sided heart failure

The side of your heart that receives blood from your body that is low in oxygen is affected by right-sided heart failure. Right-sided heart failure occurs when the heart is unable to efficiently pump blood to the lungs for oxygenation.

Heart failure that affects both ventricles of the heart is referred to as biventricular heart failure.

Congestive heart failure

A particular stage of heart failure is referred to as congestive heart failure. It takes place when blood that is returning to the heart backs up, resulting in clogging or swelling (edema) in various body parts.

Failure of your heart’s left, right, or both sides can cause congestive heart failure. As a result of the condition’s progressive nature, symptoms frequently worsen over time.
