Pulmonary hypertension Treatments

It is not possible to cure PAH fully, but medication will minimize symptoms and help you to control your condition.
Over time, pulmonary hypertension typically worsens. It can cause heart failure if left untreated, which can be fatal, so it’s important to start immediate medical attention.
If any condition causes pulmonary hypertension, the underlying condition should be treated first. Often this will prevent the pulmonary arteries from permanently being damaged.
PAH treatment can involve anticoagulants that decrease the ability of the blood to thicken (clot) and diuretics to eliminate heart failure from excess fluid.
Medicine to dilate your blood vessels can also be provided to you.
When blood oxygen levels are poor, home oxygen treatment can also be recommended.
