Common Symptoms of Hiatal Hernia

Vomiting Blood & Bad Breath

Blood flow to the stomach can be cut off by a strangulated hernia. Constant vomiting or feelings of nausea can be caused by a hiatal hernia. This isn’t very common and could be a sign that the hernia is getting worse [6]. The presence of blood in vomit is usually indicative of intestinal bleeding and should be treated with utmost urgency.

Some people may maintain very good oral hygiene and still have bad breath. Halitosis is the condition of having a stale or offensive breath. People with hiatal hernias may show signs of halitosis. This could be due to the increased closeness of the stomach to the oral cavity.
