Common Symptoms of Hip Pain

Limping

Limping [3] is any type of difficulty experienced while walking. This is usually a type of walking that favors the use of one leg over the other. Many conditions can be responsible for this.

Limping is often one of the most obvious signs of hip pain [4]. Not all hip pain is intense enough to make you limp but some are. If the pain is pronounced, you may have difficulty leaning on or walking with the affected leg. As a result, you may try to balance your body weight some other way and end up limping.

Limited mobility issues associated with hip pain can also contribute to limping. Beyond the pain associated with maintaining a normal gait when you have hip pain, stiffness or locking of the hip joints during motion can make it difficult to walk without limping.
