When to visit your doctor

Everyone experiences occasional stomach pain or a series of diarrhea or constipation. If you experience constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain, or other digestive symptoms for a long period, you should visit your healthcare provider.
You will need urgent medical attention if you experience the following symptoms:
- Difficulty or pain when swallowing
- Blood in the stool or vomit
- Severe abdominal pain
- Diarrhea or vomiting that doesn’t stop
In most cases, the symptoms of IBS and celiac disease may seem mild. If an existing symptom exacerbates over time or a new one appears, you will have to visit your healthcare provider for immediate treatment.
