Urinary tract infection
Urinary tract infections (UTIs) [4] are caused by bacteria that find their way into the urinary tract. They often enter the body through the urethra then move up and proliferate in the bladder. The infection may also affect the kidneys. The symptoms of UTI are often very uncomfortable. Many people experience pain and a burning sensation while urinating. You may experience a persistent urge to urinate or produce urine with a pungent smell.
Some people have no obvious symptoms, save microscopic traces of blood in their urine. Depending on the severity of the infection, you may or may not experience gross hematuria. Most people do not.
