The lateral collateral ligament (LCL) [2], the last of the knee’s four major ligaments, sustains injuries quite frequently. Although you may hear a snap or tearing sound if it is ripped, it could also be the sound of another ligament because it is possible for it to be injured together with another ligament in the knee.
