Torn meniscus

The two sections of cartilage that are sandwiched between your thigh bone and shinbone are susceptible to tearing in the event of an abrupt pivot, rotation, or direct pressure. This type of injury, also known as a meniscus tear [4], may produce a popping sound.
Thereafter, there can be discomfort, edema, stiffness, and an impression of instability. If the cartilage slips and plugs your knee joint, you might also experience a strange slipping sensation.
