Tendinitis

The tendons are tough cords of tissue that connect your muscles to your bones. Tendinitis is an inflammation of the tendons [9] due to overuse or exercise. When this happens to the tendons that connect the kneecap to the tibia, it is known as patellar tendinitis.
Patellar tendinitis is a very painful condition that causes soreness in the knee. It is sometimes referred to as jumper’s knee. This is because jumping is a common cause of the condition.
Osgood-Schlatter disease
This condition is often seen in growing adolescents [10]. It happens as a result of the skeletal changes that take place as children develop. These changes can cause a bump below the knee, where tendons join the kneecap and tibia. This is a painful condition that intensifies when the knee is overused or the tibial tubercle is irritated. Pain from this disease often comes and goes on its own.
