What are the Complications Associated with Synovitis?

While synovitis may not be a severe condition, it is imperative to contact your doctor if:

  • The anti-inflammatory drug does not start working within a few days.
  • The fever or pain worsens even after taking an anti-inflammatory drug.
  • The joint pain lasts longer than three weeks or comes back after your child stops taking medication.

In severe cases, your doctor might prescribe a different drug or do extra tests to check for other causes of hip pain.

Synovitis is usually not a serious condition, but it is important to contact your doctor if your symptoms worsen over time or id you experience the following:

  • Unexplained hip pain, leg pain, or limping, with or without a fever
