Abnormal Fluid Retention (Ascites)

Ascites is fluid retention in the abdomen due to liver disease, causing swelling. It leads to false weight gain and may be uncomfortable to perform daily activities. Ascites usually occur in cirrhosis [9] patients when the liver is headed towards organ failure and may suggest the need for immediate attention.
Loss of Appetite

Loss of appetite [10] is a reduced desire to eat, and it usually accompanies liver diseases. It is among the first symptoms of liver disease because of the role it plays in digestion. Another sign of liver diseases is ascites, which is when water is logged in the abdomen, giving a false sense of fullness, thereby lowering hunger levels. Irritability associated with Cirrhosis that causes nausea and frequent vomiting may also reduce appetite.
