Fatigue

Lyme disease can cause extreme tiredness, also known as fatigue. Tiredness, exhaustion, and a lack of energy are frequent symptoms in patients. This type of fatigue is different from stress-related fatigue because it isn’t triggered by any physical activity. Tiredness seems to take over your body and can be severe, lasting up to several days.
Soreness and Inflammation of the Joints
Lyme disease can cause severe joint swelling, which can later worsen to sharp shooting pain. Up to 60% of patients suffering from Lyme disease develop arthritis, which improves when antibiotic medications begin. In most patients, borreliosis-induced arthritis alleviates after thirty days of treatment with an oral antibiotic, such as doxycycline or amoxicillin.
Recurring pain and stiffness of the joints are early Lyme symptoms. The joints may be inflamed or swollen, warm to the touch, and may cause a limited range of motion.
If left untreated the pain can worsen and may spread to other joints in the body.
