When an energy centre is blocked, it can result in physical or mental health disorders, such as depression, anxiety, and stress.

In 2020, a study on 223 people was conducted at Nungin University in Korea. The study showed that chakra meditation can be used to treat anxiety in adults.

A 2018 study also showed that alternative and complementary medicine can be used to manage energy fields in the body and treat certain disorders, anxiety and stress. More research needs to be done to understand the effects of chakras on mental health and anxiety.
