Common Symptoms of Stress

Headaches and Constant Sickness

A lot of studies show that to a large extent, stress is a major contributor to headaches, a condition where there is discomfort and pain in the neck or head regions. Headaches are one of the most common symptoms of stress, because headaches occur the moment the body is being overworked. A study was conducted on about 267 people diagnosed with chronic headaches and it was found in 45% of the cases [2] that a stressful incident occurred preceding the development of the chronic headaches.

Stress tends to have a negative impact on your immune system and increases your susceptibility to infections. When this happens, you may find yourself constantly falling sick or feeling weak and tired. You may also need to be on drugs and supplements to boost your immune system. In a study conducted [3], the flu vaccine was injected into 61 older individuals. The result of the study showed that stress may cause a decrease in immunity because individuals with chronic stress had an immune response to the vaccine that was quite weak.
