Build Strength and Stability, Practice Pinching

Writing may not be a physically demanding activity for kids, but it requires stability and strength in the core and shoulders. Activities such as push-ups, planks, shooting baskets, rope climbing, hanging from monkey bars, crab walking, and wheelbarrow walking can help develop these areas. Reading while facing down also helps build strength.
Children with dysgraphia usually find it difficult to hold a pencil. You can ask your child to engage in pinching practice to improve his pencil grips. You can use tools like ice tongs, children’s chopsticks (joined at one end), and tweezers to improve your child’s grip. You can also try other options like playing board games and using pinching equipment to move pieces on the board.
