Diagnosis of migraine with aura

Migraine is generally diagnosed by a doctor, usually a neurologist. It will involve reviewing your medical history and a detailed list and description of your symptoms. A physical examination will also be done. The International Classification of Headache Disorders, 3rd edition (ICHD-3) [8], includes guidelines to help diagnose migraine with aura. Individuals must have had at least two migraine attacks before they can be diagnosed with migraine with aura. If needed your doctor may also conduct an MRI or CT scan.
