10 Common Remedies for a Tooth Infection

Saltwater rinse & Cold compress

This is one of the easiest natural treatment for tooth infection, it helps to stop the spread of infection. It works by washing the mouth with saltwater mixed with warm water. It kills bacteria in the mouth and cleans it. Saltwater rinse also helps to dissolve pus around the tooth.  Half spoon of salt is added to a small cup of water and it is stirred well, rinse mouth properly with it for over 3 minutes then spit is out.

This is mostly used when tooth infections result in swollen face. Cold compress is the best home remedy for swellings. People are advised to make their own cold compress because the commercial ones are very difficult to bend, so they cannot sit on the facial curves. Frozen corns or peas can also be used, because they can sit right on the curves of the face and neck.
