What Does It Mean to Have a Tight Palate?

A narrow palate is characterized by absence of space between the teeth, so you may experience dental overcrowding. It also leads to abnormal arrangement between the two dental arches. The lower arch does align with the upper ones. This causes a visible asymmetry.
This condition can also cause breathing difficulties. The jaw bone is located at the base of nasal cavities, air passage is impeded if it is tight and you will have to breathe through the mouth. A narrow palate also involves breathing difficulties. It also makes swallowing and speaking difficult.
Narrow palate is majorly caused by abnormal palate development due to some hereditary or environmental factors.
