Mobility Problems & Sexual Dysfunctions
Walking and moving around can become difficult for a person with MS, particularly if the person also has muscle weakness and spasticity. The patient may experience:
- Shaking of the limbs. (tremor) [12]
- Difficulties in balance and coordination. (ataxia) [13]
- Clumsiness
- Dizziness and vertigo [14] that can make it feel as though everything around is spinning.
Multiple sclerosis can affect sexual function. Both men and women with MS may find they are not as interested in sex as before.
Often men with MS find it hard to obtain or maintain an erection. (erectile dysfunction). It also takes longer to ejaculate while having sex or masturbation, and the ability to ejaculate might be lost altogether.
For women, problems include difficulty reaching orgasm, as well as decreased vaginal lubrication and sensation.
