10 Early Signs of Parkinson’s Disease

Masking

Another common sign of early Parkinson’s disease is masking. If you notice or have been told that you have a frowning look or look depressed even when nothing is wrong with you, and you are not sad, it is referred to as facial masking. Parkinson’s can affect one’s natural facial expression by making it hard for one to control the muscles in their face. Another thing to watch out for is that when a person has Parkinson’s disease, they will blink less often.

Softer voice

Parkinson’s disease may cause you to speak softly, stammer, or hesitate before talking. This sign may be tricky because sometimes you might think other people are losing their hearing and not realize that you are the one speaking more softly. If there is a change in your voice, your speech is more monotone than the usual inflections. You should see your doctor to examine if it is Parkinson’s disease.
