10 Early Signs of Parkinson’s Disease

Difficulty sleeping

Having trouble sleeping may also be a sign of Parkinson’s disease. This is because of the nocturnal slowing of movement. People with Parkinson’s tend to sleep slowly and sometimes complain of daytime sleepiness due to this reduced movement. When you notice that you constantly have sudden movement during sleep, it could signify Parkinson’s disease. This also affects speech, as the patient may not speak clearly because their speech becomes slurred when they get sleepy. The person’s sleep pattern may be disrupted by medication use, as medication can cause daytime drowsiness.

Constipation

Constipation can generally be related to other health conditions; add Parkinson’s disease to the list if it becomes difficult for you to empty your bowel. It can be an early sign of Parkinson’s disease, and you should speak to your doctor immediately, especially if other symptoms accompany it. If this is the only symptom perceived, then it may not be a PD.
