Numbness

One of the effects of nerve compression is the absence of communication between the nerves in your arms, legs, and other areas of your body. So, your brain is unable to interpret information coming from those areas. This will make you feel numb in those areas or you will experience complete absence of sensation, like when you sleep with your arm in an abnormal position.
Pain Extending from Your Neck down Your Arm
Like sciatica, nerve compression can occur in the neck region of your spine (cervical spine) if a nerve in your neck becomes compressed or pinched when it leaves your spine to travel down your arms or into your shoulders. Inflammation of a cervical nerve can lead to pain and similar symptoms in any area along the nerve pathway, such as your shoulders, your arms, your hands, and the upper part of your back.
