Common Treatments for Parkinson’s Disease

Exercise

Activities that elevate muscle strength, flexibility, and stability help to reduce the symptoms of Parkinson’s. Doctors always advise patients to visit a physical therapist and exercise regularly. Activities such as swimming, gardening, dancing, water aerobics, skipping, and stretching help eradicate depression or anxiety. A primary symptom of Parkinson’s disease is imbalance; patients find it difficult to walk or run with a proper gait. Regular exercise regulates the balance of the body. Asides from exercising, there are other tips to follow to improve balance, such as; avoid moving too fast, allow your heel to hit the floor first when walking, if you observe any form of shuffling, stop and watch your posture, always stand straight, and look in front of you while walking not on the floor.
