Common Symptoms

The most common symptoms are vision loss in one eye, pain around your eye that’s worsened by eye movement, and difficulty distinguishing between colors. This is called optic neuritis.

Transverse Myelitis

Symptoms of transverse myelitis are:

  • Weakness of the legs and arms
  • Pain in the lower back, arms, legs, or torso
  • Abnormal sensory feelings or even sensory loss
  • Bowel and bladder dysfunction
  • Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis
