Preventing schwannoma

Unfortunately, schwannomas cannot be prevented. They typically occur at random and for unexplained reasons. 10% of instances have a genetic component that increases your risk of developing a certain form of tumor.
Speak to your healthcare practitioner if a biological family has been identified with neurofibromatosis 2 (NF2) [4], schwannomatosis [5], or the Carney complex [6]. To determine if you share the hereditary disease, they could advise genetic counseling.
