What Is a Spinal Nerve Pain?

A spinal nerve pain may be as a result of excessive pressure on the nerves near the last five vertebrae in your back. Another common cause of spinal nerve pain is a herniated disc [2]. This condition is also associated with older people, and could also be as a result of a defect in your vertebrae, or wear-and-tear. Men ages 20 to 50 are at a higher risk of developing a herniated disc.

Other possible causes of a spinal nerve pain include Spinal stenosis [3], bulging disc, spondylolisthesis [4], bone spur formation (osteophytosis), degeneration, foraminal stenosis and rheumatoid arthritis [5].
