Hearing Aid
According to the American Tinnitus Association [8], hearing loss accounts for most tinnitus cases. This loss of hearing alters the way your ears perceive sound frequencies. Doctors sometimes recommend hearing aids to help adjust the brain’s ability to process sounds.
Most hearing aids are worn externally and work by amplifying external noises through a microphone and amplifier embedded in the device. When you can hear external noises better, you will notice your tinnitus symptoms less.
A survey found that [9] about 60 percent of people with tinnitus who used hearing aid experienced relief to varying degrees. In 22 percent of the participants, the relief was significant.
